Welcome to Mountain View Elementary!
We are the home of the Mountain Lions and serve preschool through 5th grade in Lacey, WA. Our mission is to ensure that all students have the skills, attitudes, and learning necessary to become contributing members of our diverse and changing society.

Goals & School Improvement Plan
Academic Gap Goal
By the end of the 2025-26 school year, reduce the percentage of students performing below grade-level benchmark on the DIBELS Reading Composite across kindergarten through 5th grade by 15% from 62% to 47%.
Behavioral or Social-Emotional Learning Gap Goal
Reduce the disproportionate rate of discipline referrals among male students. In 2024-25, male students accounted for 52% of the school population but 83% of all discipline referrals. The goal is to decrease this percentage to 70% or lower, demonstrating progress.
School Improvement Plan
Building History
Mountain View Elementary was built in 1956 on 13.8 acres. It is located at 1900 College Street SE in Lacey. The 49,944 square foot building includes 29 instructional spaces, plus 15 portable classrooms and an 8-classroom modular building.
- In 2000, a major modernization and improvements to the building, site, and street frontage was completed, utilizing bond and state assistance funds.
- In 2010, a major upgrade and reconfiguration of the portable classroom buildings was completed.
- In 2015, Meadows received a new 8-plex preschool center.
